OJO Images travels to Guatemala with Compassionate Eye Foundation

London, UK, Nov. 12, 2008. As part of their support for the Compassionate Eye Foundation (CEF), OJO Images Chairman Chris Ryan and fellow OJO Director Rob Daly left London in September to travel to a remote area of Guatemala. Their aim was to see for themselves how OJO Images fundraising efforts for CEF are being used to help in this poverty stricken region.

Major Publishers adopt PLUS Image Licensing Standards

New York, NY, Nov. 10, 2008. Three major publishers have called for the adoption of the PLUS (Picture Licensing Universal System) standards by picture archives, photographers and all other image suppliers. Representatives of McGraw Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Pearson each announced that they will adopt the PLUS Picture Licensing Glossary definitions in their contracts, and that they encourage image suppliers to begin embedding PLUS license metadata in all images within one year.

The publishers voiced their support at the “PLUS Takes Root in the Publishing Industry” event hosted by the Picture Archive Council of America, during their International Conference in New York City.

Jupitermedia Corporation Reports Results for Its Third Quarter Ended September 30, 2008

New York, NY, Nov. 06, 2008. Jupitermedia Corporation (Nasdaq: JUPM) today reported results for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.

Highlights for the third quarter of 2008 include:

• Revenues for the third quarter of 2008 were $31.0 million compared to revenues of $34.8 million for the same period last year.
• Loss per diluted share was $0.63 and included non-cash stock-based compensation expense, legal fees related to the recently signed stock purchase agreement with Getty Images, Inc. and the establishment of a valuation allowance on certain deferred tax assets, which totaled $0.52 per diluted share. Excluding these charges, loss per diluted share was $0.11.

Digital Railroad Shuts Down Operations; Stock Artists Alliance Update on Status of Images and Payments

Atlanta, GA, Nov. 05, 2008. SAA continues our commitment to intervene on behalf of photographers with Digital Railroad archives and provide updates to the community. We are in ongoing communications with Diablo Management, the crisis management company handling the matter.

On Oct. 28, Digital Railroad operations shut down. On Oct. 31, Diablo issued a memo announcing that a Letter to Intent was received to purchase some of Digital Railroad's assets.

Diablo is now issuing an email in response to inquiries, which provides some answers about the fate of archive fees paid and license fees due. Read the letter here.
