BANGKOK, Thailand. – Aug. 16, 2005 – Asia’s leading online photo agency,
OnAsia, announced that veteran Associated Press (AP) picture editor
Olivier Nilsson will be joining their team in Bangkok.
OnAsia wants to expand its online archive of over 70,000 images but
emphasizes that strong editing will ensure a consistently high quality
of imagery. “We’re aiming to increase the flow of new stories and stock
material onto our site. We want to give our clients lots of choice while
maintaining the highest standards of photography,” says the agency’s
Co-Director, Yvan Cohen.
Nilsson is leaving AP after 18 years of service. The former number two
in AP’s Paris bureau says he relishes the challenge of working within a
small agency seeking to hold its own in today’s highly competitive
market. “OnAsia has found its niche with high quality Asian images.
They’re working with excellent photographers and I believe the agency
has a bright future,” said Nilsson, who will start work on September
1st, 2005.
